I loved spell crafting in Oblivion. Making a spell where your speed could go over 300 and zoom around like you were sonic the hedgehog… and then the game would crash. Soooo freakin’ fun!!!!!!!!! 😁

Mysticism would probably also be a good choice as the over arching skill for the magic, like strength for all the melee weapons. It would level up as you use magic and control how much mana you use on spells and/or how fast mana is recovered

I want variations of the same skills. Instead of speechcraft, I want "eloquent orator" and "streetwise" skills. One for talking to nobles and such, the other for speaking with thieves and beggars. Things like that add SOOOO much to the game

If you go back to Daggerfall, they actually have a climbing skill that basically allows you to scale any wall, the higher the skill level, the longer you can hold onto a wall before you fall. I remember coming back to town at night, needing to climb over the city wall to get in, only to fall flat and die because my skills were high enough. Good times.

What I’m really hearing is Morrowind was so well designed it would be great to bring it into the modern era. That game was truly ahead of it’s time.

The custom classes was one of my favorite parts of Oblivion, just for that extra smattering of personalization and role play. Would definitely like to see that make a return. Spell making and more robust enchanting making a comeback would also be awesome. Just for kicks when playing around with the enchanting system in Oblivion, I made arrows that illuminated every enemy in a large area on contact. Why? Because I could and it was surprisingly cheap.
