Backpack full, open map (while not in vehicle), fast travel close to vending machine, sell junk, open map, fast travel back to your vehicle close to where you were, I love that the most!

Heres a tip: be aware of what elemental damage you are using. Its like rock-paper-scissors, fire beats flesh, shock beats shields, corrosive beats armor. The color of the enemy health bar correlates with which elemental is best against it. If you are using the wrong elemental, your damage will be greatly reduced.

Some games, during the loading screens tell you useful info about the game. I noticed some info on a loading screen earlier. It said: 4 is the correct number of chuggas before choo choo. Man that made me laugh.
