What I love about COVID… the delays it’s caused and the attitudes it’s changed so that people can just relax and not be so impatient about stuff. We really have to accept that delays happen and have a decent attitude about them

Finally solidified my pre-order. Was on the fence for a good while, debating whether to spend the money building a new rig, or waiting for something mobile was well worth the wait.

My only issue with the Steam Deck so far has been the claim that opening it makes it structurally weaker. This all comes down to a design flaw from them having the screws that hold the casing together going into a soft plastic peg, rather than a brass retention insert. It is a design choice made with what feels like the intention to impart consequences on people who choose to open and repair/upgrade (what little can be) the device they paid for. Which, considering this is aimed at the PC gaming market, is a lot of the people who are interested in the Steam Deck.

Would love to know more about its performance while docked. Will it be a disappointing experience if played on a larger television?

Linus, Gamer Nexus and The Phawx just did a great deep dive of the Steam Deck worth the watch. I am really hyped for the next when the software features will be released.
