Single Channel 4000MHz vs Dual Channel 2133MHz - Which is Better?

Bro a question, ir order to activate the dual channel, would I have to put the rams in the slots 1 y 3, or could it be in the slots 2 and 4?. Motherboard Asus Tuf gaming B450M Pluss II

Memory bandwidth on 2x 2133 Mhz DRAM is definitly higher than 1 x 4000. But latancy on 4000Mhz DRAM is extreamly lower. If cpu is bottleneck, 4000Mhz x 1 supposed to beat to 2133Mhz x 2
