I wanted to upgrade from a gtx 1050ti 4 Gb. I wanted more GPU RAM, so the 1650 was eliminated. It only comes in 4Gb versions. I wanted to pay less than 450$ CAN tx included. All I was left was the 1660 and the 1660 super. I wanted 1 HDMI and 1 DVI port (to use a dual monitor setup, with 1 monitor having only VGA and DVI inputs), at least, and I wanted to buy a card that was on sale.
I ended up with the EVGA GTX 1660 SC Ultra gaming DDR5 6Gb. I paid 311$ CAN before tax.
I am happy. Davinci Resolve likes the card, and I only play WoW. I play on ULTRA and I get 80 fps most of the times. The price jump to get a 1660 super was about 40$-50$, that I did not feel like paying. I am going to wait and re-upgrade in 2 or 3 years, and transfer the 1660 in my 2nd computer (my daughter uses it, i7-4790, which inherited the 1050ti right now, jumping from a 750ti).
I like buying best bang for the buck cards, and upgrading more often.

I love this video and detailed information. It definitely seems that the RTX 2070 Super is the sweet spot for 1080p gaming!

Would it be possible to set the video card memory speeds to the lowest common denominator? Curious how much memory speeds alone are responsible for the differences.

I bought a laptop with the rtx 2060 recently, it was £200 more than one with a 1650 max q, which I still contemplate, however I think the direction the rtx graphics are going make it seem like the performance will be better over a longer period of time. I hope im right and I hope I made the right decision.

Ive had the base 1080 for nearly 3 years now. I know it and the 2060s are neck and neck. Im happy with its 1440 @ 120 performance.
