As a fireman I’ll say tear down is impressive, the fact that smoke coming out of the structure actually has variable velocity and density is pretty damn close to what a real structure fire looks like

The MAD MAX openworld driving game had some surprisingly good fire FX, when your car was badly damaged and you had to jump out, especially in the dark it burned in a totally realistic fashion. Great game, very underrated.

In Days Gone. If you get lit on fire, your character actually shows damage from being burned for a short time. Charred flesh and burnt clothing. A detail I was impressed with for what it was none the less.

Far Cry 2 had a single programmer develop the fire system. They were tasked with making it thinking it they would just make something basic but they went off and studied how fire actually worked, how it spread and was affected. In the game the wind actually affects the fire making it change direction and was praised by fire experts on how realistic it was.

I can tell you as a previous Forest firefighter, that Far Cry 2 is the most accurate. Fire, when in dry brush, will only take seconds to move through an acre of land.

Heck yeah! Glad to see some Teardown representation! Sometimes you just gotta break/destroy stuff, and that game is like therapy. ❤

Author — Fancy fan, see?
