It depends on the game. Sometimes a voiced protagonist works, sometimes a silent protagonist is better. In some games it’s good to have someone talk about the situation, in others it’s nice to come up with your own theories

I love voiced actors when they’re a set character such as Solid Snake or Arthur Morgan, both very good characters, but I prefer silent over voiced whenever it’s straight RPG like fallout 4. It’s hard to really make your own character in fallout 4 when the voice is set, but like I said before, I prefer playing as a fleshed out character with a backstory

IMO: voiced protagonists make you like the character more, silent protagonists make _you_ the character more

I liked all 3 BioShocks equally. But I did enjoy the second dead space over the first one. Both were Fantastic but DS2 was so much better and scarier imo

I like both and it mostly depends on the mood I am in when I sit down to play my games. I also think they both are important and depend on the type of game the creators wanted to make. Voices actors in games get me more emotionally attached for example the endings of Mass Effect 2, The Last of Us, Uncharted 4, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn are all so emotional for me because the characters have their own voice. Then on the other side games like Terraria, Skyrim, FTL, Dark Souls, and Rainbow Six Siege are all amazing games and some of my favorite of all time. They tend to have better gameplay for me and while they all have stories thats not why I keep playing them.

I like voiced protagonist because it gives him a lot more character and you get a lot more attached to him
