Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a third-person survival game developed by Panache Digital Games and published by Private Division. It is set to be released for Microsoft Windows on August 27, 2019, and on December 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In the game, players control a lineage of apes and are tasked to ensure its survival in prehistoric Africa and facilitate its evolution. It will be Patrice Désilets' first game since the release of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a survival game played from a third-person perspective. In the game, players control a member of an ape clan and have to manage the player character's health by eating, drinking, and sleeping. The game starts in an African jungle, an open world filled with threats including predators like giant birds and poisonous plants. Players can climb any tree in the jungle, though the player character will break its bones if it falls down. As players progress, new areas are opened up for players to explore. When an ape is exploring new locations or being hunted by predators, it will enter a state of "fear" which can be overcome by finding glowing orbs of light, or else it will descend into a state of hysteria. While the world is dangerous, the apes can use their heightened senses to listen to various sounds, such as that of a predator, a lost clan member, or an outsider which can be recruited to the player's clans. The primate can use its intelligence to pinpoint the locations of different items of interest and make new discoveries such as identifying new food or tools. As players continue to make new discoveries, the apes become more intelligent and capable, and new skills such as using leaves to make bedding and medicinal plants to heal themselves are unlocked. If the player character dies, players will shift to controlling another clan member. If all clan members die, the lineage becomes extinct and players need to restart the game.

Groom successfully to pair up your apes so you can have genetic diversity in your clan! This will help in choosing which traits you want passed down when they mate!!!! Also get the beneficial buffs and max it out before fighting/exploring!

Hey Brad great video, this game is all about doing things at your own pace and exploration! But a couple tips, once you learn a few neurons it’s best to have some babies(they give you reinforce points in generations leaps) and then skip a generation and lock them in. If you learn to much you won’t be able to lock anything you’ve learned in and you’ll have to relearn it. Also skipping generations is smart because it keeps your elders from dying which give you negative years when you evolve. The more you discover and learn the farther you’ll evolve when you do. Hope this helps!

Reinforcement is specifically tied to Generation Leaps. You reinforce a neuron and the next generation will have it, while non-reinforced neurons will be "forgotten". They do not need to be relearned, but you do need to fill them with neuronal energy again

Honestly, checking the Help section the pause Menu can be quite useful. You can use any "Tool" as a weapon, as far as I am aware. That def includes branches, but sharp sticks are the best way to go. Rocks and bones are not single use, but sharp sticks are and deal much more dmg. You have the right idea for counter-attacking, but make sure you point towards the creature (you will see your ape prepare an attack), and hold out for that sound. No point in letting go before it. There is a time limit, but it is pretty forgiving in my experience.

to harvest honey: alter the Natal Grass Cycad plant ( the same plant used to make a "bed") and use the bi-product to poke a beehive and you should get honey
