The characthers are ok but still can dig the 3d art direction. Like.... Even More when you use the amazing 2d spritres for the stories bits. I always liked that colorful and powerful visual style that the 2d animation give to the series.

This reminds me, given the art styles and humor I could see Shantae characters showing up as cameos or DLC in a Disgaea game.

Piyori looks like a happy Asuka Langley(Evangelion), Melodia looks like Albedo(Overlord) drawn in the Disgaea art style, and Majolene looks like Natsuki (Doki Doki Literature Club) if she was a magical girl.
