Eliza - Announcement Trailer - Nintendo Switch

  • Eliza, the critically-acclaimed visual novel about an AI counseling program, the people who develop it, and the people who use it, is coming to Nintendo Switch on 10/10!
After abandoning her high-powered tech career and a mysterious three-year absence, Evelyn Ishino-Aubrey resurfaces working as a proxy for a virtual counseling app called Eliza. Her job consists solely of reading a script provided to her in real-time by an AI, leaving her no autonomy over what she says. Is Eliza a technological marvel that brings therapy to those who otherwise couldn’t access it? Or is it an ineffective replacement and another vector for technology companies to gain control
over our lives and humanity?
As she reconnects with people from her past and gets to know the ordinary people of Seattle who use Eliza for counseling, Evelyn finds herself caught in the middle between differing sides of the argument— and as she begins to question everything
about her past life and future purpose in the world, it becomes clear she must confront the turmoil and darkness inside.

I gotta say, I love the little details that make this feel like Seattle. A coffee shop with a pride sticker in the window, a Seahawks shirt, the layout of the LINK interior. It all feels like home.

Way back in the day, C-64 computers had a basic language program called Eliza. It was a small IA program, it was interesting, it wasn’t very complex.

It would be cool if games like this would get a physical release. Remaining digital is unfortunate. Bring back the days when obscure games where actually put on a disc or cartridge.

Are you playing as the Eliza AI yourself? I remember I initially thought you were playing as an AI in Orwell and it felt more interesting that way

I thought this was an actual therapist designed to help people... I was like why is it on the switch of all places?

Is this game a huge reference to the early AI Eliza that was made also for counseling? If so, that’d be pretty awesome
