Thank you for this, it was the only game in the series I never played. Not sure why.. I really dropped the ball on this one. Thanks to you I at least know the story now.

Maaan.. 16 or sum years later, the whole story line still puts me in my feels. I’ve never beaten a game as much as this one. I just bought it to play it again. Hands down the best game I’ve ever played to this day. Thank you for the nostalgia. I noticed you always use the mk22, I was trigger happy rambo with every gun I found when I was a kid 🤣 thanks again

For gamers into war/spy genre, this is by far the greatest game ever created. Arguably the greatest game created period. The cutscenes, the radio moments, the gameplay…man when this came out I had no idea the impact it would have…nobody did. We managed to get an older brothers friend to get 3 copies with baby sitting money saved up (yeah you heard that right) and when he came back from wal mart, me and my friend took a copy, he got one and the older bro. Popped it in our chunky ps2 around 7:45 pm and played all night untill the sun came up. 2nd day after school was out for summer and we literally sat inside playing this as our friends were out skateboarding haha. Can’t forget the first and second one, just completely mind blowing. If I ever won the lottery, I would start a gaming company to see something of this series greatness be produced. Another game I enjoyed almost as much as this, was the first splinter cell

Thank you for this and for not including any commentary! I still wish I could relive playing this game for the first time again! MGS3 is my personal favorite MGS game and is in my Top 3 easily.

The prison guard in this game has to be my favorite character. He seems like such a nice guy, and seems almost like he’s hurt when snake doesn’t want the food he gives him. It’s strange to see people in these games who aren’t some kind of super soldier or spy. The prison guard doesn’t even want to be in the army, and hates that he has to treat people as his enemies just because they’re from a different country. He’s really just a normal guy trying to get by in life, and who probably wants to get back home to his family once he’s done with the army. It’s nice to see something wholesome in a serious game like this.
