The “Sky course” is called Sky Gardens and it was originally in Mario Kart Super Circuit for the GBA. And it was remade for Mario Kart DS and then that was the last we saw it

I’m really quite disappointed they’re just using ports- I noticed it straight away during the direct. The difference in quality will be noticeable, and not the sort of graphics you’d expect in 2022- and it’s throwing me off that the original graphics from 2013 look miles better.

Got to tell you. I remember buying Mario kart 8 on the Wii U, and waiting for it to arrive with my friends, the collectors edition with the blue shell figurine. When we got it it was such a joy and the switch version still is. I actually can’t think what a new game would add at this point, particularly considering the switches power, the graphics of this game are still *very* impressive. So I am actually elated about this DLC. I love to play my switch with my friends IRL and that is why I like Nintendo the most. Most exciting game news for a long time for me.

I get the feeling Booster pack 1 will be full of courses without anti-gravity, because remember that there are quite a few courses in the main game without it too, like Yoshi Circuit, Dry Dry Desert, Donut Plains (I think it is), and Grumble Volcano as examples. We could get more anti-gravity based courses in the future packs because this is just 1/6, starting tame and then getting big boy hitters could be the game plan. I kinda see that coming up as the main idea of this.
