definitely dragon dogma. for the best, most complex combat system and great character development so many factors come into play. npc companions learn player behavior, improve, can be borrowed from other players, and then come back with gifts and trophies and new knowledge. Class change at any time. A game that went down with the release of Skyrim, but remains one of the best fantasy RPGs to this day. the sequel, Arisen, finally brought a few more Fast Travel Crystals into play.

Glad to see Neo: Twewy acknowledged here! This year had excellent games like Metroid Dread, SMT:V, and Pokemon Arceus, but Neo: Twewy was my favorite with how fun its battle system was, the way it encourages experimentation in battle, and a story that lives up to its predecessor!

Execellent list! I want to give Mario Party a go soon, got SMT5 ordered (decided to go physical with this one), & Disco Elysium (not sure if I go with NS or PS route). Nino Kuni 2 is amazing! I played on PC when it first released but gave up cause a boss kept killing me and I kept grinding and not figuring it out 😭
