i think there might be a huge leap forward in gaming when they start introducing machine learning into it. compile some huge collective sequenced genome of machine learning behaviors and apply those algorithms to the AI

I never thought like this. I always imagined an extraordinary future with unbelievable technology that completely blows away what we had. I hated the fact that I had to wait so many years for it but I knew there would be much time needed to get there and there is still much more time to pass.

Some stuff missing: We thought AI would be smart enough so we can have full conversations. // We thought we could control games with our speech or mind. // We thought we would never have any loading screens anymore // We thought games would be the main form of entertainment by now (not films or shows) // We thought most games would have a consistent words where things grow, change and are like in the real world, like if you burn a tree and come back later, it will slowly rot and new plants will grow on it in a natural way.

Back in those days we used to buy just a game and that was it. No DLC, no extra features, just a plain simple game

Regarding the controller stuff, I liked the Wii, but it also made me appreciate my Xbox, I think at that point a lot of us realized we did not necessarily needed a lot of innovation in that aspect, just a good old plastic controller with buttons and sticks to sit and play

I always thought games would come with instruction manuals in the case. I never read them at all, but I still liked how they looked in the case!
