NEW PlayStation Plus Premium & Essential - 5 Things You Need to know

One thing I’ve not seen mentioned anywhere yet and what I hope to see is a possible upgrade option for current annual subscriptions. Say I’m 1/4 through my yearly subscription of PSPlus, is it safe to assume they’ll want me to finish out that year before changing my subscription or make me pay full whack again for the Extra or Premium plan? Seems a bit mad but I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t make it an option to upgrade your current plan for a discounted amount (the discount being what you’ve already paid for your annual subscription) but I hope they do! Would be nice if I had the option to upgrade from Essential to Extra for an a fixed price upfront!

I have both services now and this just really simplifies things for me going forward. As a PS 5 only player, I do like the idea of access to more new software. I’m optimistic about how this will pan out in the future.

A big reason as to why I found that Gamepass was so worth it was the fact that not only did I get games for my Xbox but I also got a ton of games for PC. If Sony ends up doing something similar on the future, then I can see a real competition between the two. Until then, Gamepass still has the upper hand in my opinion.
