Honorable Mention: In Rayman 3, the tutorial character Murphy said to Rayman before disappearing: "See you in Rayman 4!" Needless to say, Rayman 4 never happened.

2:10 I actually love this strangers and freaks encounter, because he was most definitely a time traveler and the funny way that he talked could mean that he was a city boy from like the 1920s

I dunno if I’d call Geology for Beginners a cruel quest, because you do get a nice reward at the end of it. Sure it’s not a heap of cash like you’re promised but still a good item.

Right now I can think of one quest that lied to me. The tenpenny tower ghoul quest in Fallout 3. I didn’t expect Roy Phillips to murder every single person in Tenpenny Tower. I was really bummed out when Dashwood got killed. I didn’t like the conclusion but it does give a valuable lesson. You can’t trust everyone, certain things are beyond your control, and the capital wasteland is very cruel.
