Another seemingly minor change that greatly impacts the gameplay is that if you die after collecting a Green Star or Stamp you still collect it. I hate changes like this that only make the game easier without an option to turn them off. And the game was designed without the ability to keep a Green Star through death in mind, so there are a bunch now that you can just jump to your death and acquire rather than having to keep a Boomerang suit or a Cannon hat throughout the level, or having to jump back onto a moving platform.

When u die, you keep the green stars and stamps you’ve found, even the ones past the last checkpoint. This wasn’t the case in the original Update: if you try to quit or leave the level, you lose the collectibles you got during that attempt

The midair roll is just as useful as in odyssey. There have been several occasions while playing where I did a ground pound jump, wall jumped and turned to do an air dive onto a higher platform. Allows for certain skips too. Pretty handy.

I know it’s been talked about to death, but I really do love the speed boosts all the characters got. Because of this, Toad is now my favorite character to play as. I love how crazy fast he is now, and it’s just so much fun to zoom through a level.

One major difference that you didn’t mention is that when you collect a green star or stamp you keep it even when you lose a life

I think there is a difference being the stickers. In the Wiiu version they were not colored as it was going to be used for miiverse but now the switch version has the stickers collected fully colored and used for photo mode.
