While I like the idea of a lower end Series system, it bugs me on some level as it feels like the Series X is just the next iteration of the One. Yes, the SeriesX is a more powerful system, but there’s a difference between Diskless and less powerful. If you look at the One, it’s not capable of really handling the newer games at a level similar to the OneX and as an investment, starting out with a neutered version of the next generation seems counterproductive. I just don’t know that releasing two versions of a brand new system where one is slightly more powerful than the best you are doing now is a good selling point. I think that the best course of action would have been to make one SKU and undercut Sony on pricing to a significant degree. Sell it at the current OneX price and offer a year or 6 months of Game Pass ultimate on top of it for free. You will hook people on it and that’s your revenue stream behind the loss leader.
