They should had give it 8GB VRAM on 256bit bus and make them both same price. 8GB would have more performance with the 256 bit bus and 12GB@192bit would have more memory and slightly lower performance.

The RTX 3060 Ti provides 10 FPS more than RTX 3060 on average. The performance difference between the two cards is 17.5% Which is fair if you consider the price difference.

Imagine how much better this 3060 refresh/release would have been if they opted to put 12GB of DDR6X as the change instead. Nvidia needed a win and this was not it.

RTX 3050 should have been a Ti since Launch with 6gb of GDDR6 and a 192bit bus. The original 3060 should have been what they called the 3060 Ti with 8gb GDDR6 on a 256bit bus. The original 3080 should have been the original 3070 with 10gb of GDDR6X and a 320bit bus. The 3080 12gb should have been the actual 3080 with 12gb GDDR6X on a 384bit bus. The original 3090 should have been the actual 3080 Ti with 16gb GDDR6X on a 384bit bus. The 3090 Ti should have been the Titan Ampere with 24gb GDDR6X on a 384bit bus. The 3090 should have never existed, it disrupted the whole high end GPU market at 1500$. The 3080 Ti should have been the flagship at 899$.

I wish so tech press takes 8GB version and treats it as ABSOLUTE RTX3060 in ALL tests and does that with ALL cards, which would start to put nVidia in even greater shame

It’s a 3050 super or ti. It’s ridiculous nvidia has been doing about the name of its gpus to keep the same prices.
