I Never Could Get into Zelda: Skyward Sword

Skyward sword is my favorite Zelda game. It’s a full-story-length arcade game! I feel if they added combo points, this would be a franchise favorite for most. I understand if you’re not a fan of motion control though... I personally LOVE Nintendo’s gimmicks. While not always perfect they usually work with enough training and are what make Nintendo A toy company at heart. I hope the reRelease works out well!

So funny story. I was born without my full right hand. The hand needed for sword movements. So using some wristbands and the Wii remote’s wrist strap, I basically wrapped it around my wrist. It was very weird and uncomfortable. But I was able to finish Skyward Sword. I think that’s why this game holds a special place in my heart.

I had a similar experience. I bought it, I even bought the special edition with the controller and soundtrack! But I took a break from gaming around the time it came out, then never got around to playing it and sold it. So I’m really excited to play it on switch.

I really like the controls of Skyward Sword, I just have problems with the constant interruption and hand holding from Fi. Combine that with slow text and the menu opening up every time you pick up materials and the pace of the gameplay becomes choppy. These could be easily fixed in the remaster and I hope they do so.
