Daymare 1998 Review - One of the Worst Games of 2019

Some of the puzzles and combats was tedious, but the experience overall was a lot of fun. Ironically, I hated the one thing you liked, and totally opted out of the “clip loading.” To me that was the most tedious part. I was glad it was optional. Overall, I thought it was a really cool send up to the genre and I think most of the “bad acting” and “writing” were self aware to the 1998 environment. I respect the review, but I think you “missed the point,” quite a bunch

Just played through the game. Except for some enemy placement around corners I had no idea of how to avoid getting grabbed, the game is good. I mean like you guys said. 10 people are in the studio, so you can´t expect the quality of a Witcher 3, Call of Duty, Resident Evil. I liked the puzzles, liked the mechanics like the manual reloading and for an indie game, the story is actually not bad. It´s not the best in the world but well..it´s still an indie game made by 10 people. This review seems like you guys expected a Resident Evil by another studio. The only things I can agree with you guys are: checkpoints (they really lack but oh well it´s not that bad) and the lack of grab animations (I would´ve loved 3 grabs at least.) So...yeah...Liked the game.

I wonder did he play it long enough to see that there are 4 save slots later in the game, chapter 2 i think. Also the many references ARE funny, I dont think the devs were taking these seriously at all. I do agree with about half this review.

I have been playing Daymare for the last few days and I am really enjoying it. Once I got used to the combat its a good game.I just generally like low budget survival horror

This is like calling Fast and Furious a bad film series because the writing sucks and the acting is poor, thats not the draw in and Daymare even seems to intentionally lean in to bad voice acting and writing to be more reminiscent of 90s games. Also its a tiny studio so all things considered the game looks fantastic for something created by so little
