Gears 5 vs Gears of War 4: BIGGEST CHANGES

I’m looking forward to the campaign the most. Gears and Xbox needed an open world with rpg elements so badly for years now. I really hope it doesn’t water down a set piece though hopefully similar to the new god of war which was friggen brilliant. But honestly I am just looking forward to more gears of war. I honestly think each numbered title has gotten better each time. Even though 3 had better maps and guns than 4

The last decade has made me nervous when I hear a franchise is changing, evolving, reinventing itself or innovating. Change is only good when it makes things better but 95% of the time monetisation is standing in the way of that. From what I’ve seen and heard gears 5 is a step forward in graphics and mechanics but a step back in the sense of player choice (freedom), which seems to be a change made to either make gears more realistic with 1 of each character per horde/escape game, or to allow players to pay or grind to unlock desired skill sets for one particular character later on. Let’s just hope TC has found a middle ground in terms of grind/paywalls. I’m worried since I’ve seen time based elements in the customisation screen of gears 5.

I just started Gears 4 the other day for the first time and now seeing this I’m even more excited for Gears 5. Never expected myself getting back into the series since Gears of War 3 but looks like they’re making changes that captures my attention even more. Can’t wait.
