platform engineering is important too..the 5600x is newer technology ,therefore more future proof..extra cores are great for workloads specifically..single core is still king for gaming.

For those who wonder which of these 2 processors should choose the answer is easy if you are going to use it to play go for the ryzen 5 5600x but if you are going to play and apart you are going to do streaming or multitasking, editing or others go for the ryzen 7 3700x

The 3700X has 2 more Cores but it clocks much lower. In fact im quite impressed by the fact that the 5600X can be pushed beyond 4.5 GHz.

Granted, I did notice a FPS difference going from my 3700X to my 5800X but I had both set to 4.4/4.5 GHz. The 3700X, being at its peak limit, still only had about a 20 fps difference when playing overwatch on 1080p. 135-144hz to 140-158+. My point being you can clock that higher to get a better comparison from 6 higher powered cores to 8 older cores.

I have both 5600x and 3900x. When I play with my 5600x PBO boost too 4.850ghz the games just feels soo smooth. I cannot even believe the different. 5600x is a beast compare to other cpu. Is like i7 8700k used to be at the day but better.
