I remember back in my Diablo 2 days, Blizzard handled it by having both Closed and Open Battle Net servers, giving people a place to cheat and do crazy stuff while leaving the people who played legit alone, it seemed to work out well from what I remember :P.

Games should just put cheaters with cheaters :D. that way the legit players are happy, and if cheaters want to play with legit people, they have to buy a new copy for a new account and force to play legit :D.

This reminds me of a case that exists in CSGO that is so rarely covered. The whole cheat matches thing, where hackers setup servers to test cheats against each other, and it makes me wonder if getting those white hat hackers on the side of the developer and asking them to assist in preventing malicious cheats, and maybe occasionally catering to them, would be beneficial.

A while ago I had a Host cheating in the Irithyll Dungeons in Dark Souls 3. He was immune to enemy damage, pulled invaders in from around the game regardless of where they invaded, had a permanent Seed of Giant Tree effect on the invaders, and had an invisible aura around him in which enemies would instantly be healed if they were in that aura. A few other invaders and myself eventually whittled the enemies down and managed to kill the Host, but I’m pretty sure he was actually trying to give us a fair chance at winning. If he wanted to he could have easily had infinite poise or just taken no damage at all. In the game I am all for players making minibosses and all that to keep it interesting and fun for everyone, but when people do stuff like that it really is annoying and makes the game less fun for others.

You know what is funny: Whenever some 10 year old tells me that they are going to hack me, I immediately laugh as I know that a real hacker would NEVER tell you that they are about to hack you. The only time that they might tell you, is when they already have personal info on your computer (or other forms of leverage) and attempt to blackmail you.
